In January 2007, Taj Boston opened at the legendary 1927 building at the corner of Newbury Street and the Public Garden, and Afternoon Tea in The Lounge was infused with new traditions, new menus and the lush international flavors of "T".

"T", the noted purveyors of the finest loose leaf teas and herbals from throughout the world, now custom blend twenty-one varieties to Taj Boston's specifications. The added luxury of individual tea pots with these aromatic, spiced and floral selections complements the gleaming silver tiered trays of delectable petite pastries, assorted finger sandwiches and scones served with Devonshire cream and jams. Special Louis Roederer and Laurent Perrier champagnes in addition to a selection of aperitifs and sherries are also available to complement
Afternoon Tea.

The gracious conviviality of tea in this elegant chandeliered and mirrored setting with opulently draped windows overlooking fashionable Newbury Street is a Boston tradition. The soft strains of the harpist playing in the background create a timeless atmosphere.

The Lounge is a signature setting that Taj Boston offers for private social and business gatherings when Afternoon Tea is not being served. Other very distinctive venues for events include The Dining Room, The Wine Cellar, The Roof, The Grand Ballroom and salons with wood-burning fireplaces.
