The Centre Street Cafe is a funky and fun neighborhood restaurant with a menu that reflects the area's diversity and creativity. As Stuff @ Night Magazine put it: Chef Felicia Sanchez has an "honest, vibrant, multicultural take on local market cuisine." Her nightly specials, "Such as thyme-roasted organic chicken flanked by cheddar-scallion mashed potatoes, and a rosy-rare slab of yellowfin tuna topped with a lemony salsa of avocado and capers, are dissertations on the possibilities of fine products and thoughtful chef intervention."
The Boston Globe once noted the Cafe's food "has a fresh-from-the-garden quality, beautifully prepared with lots of vegetables and exquisite greens." And Boston Magazine said that Sanchez creates meals that "taste as though the ingredients were bought that day at the farmers market." In fact, they often are, since the farmers market is located directly behind the Cafe. In addition, Chef Sanchez works with other area farmers who grow vegetables and herbs specifically for the Cafe. The Cafe even rents space on a farm to grow its own heirloom tomatoes.
The Centre Street Cafe is a Boston Magazine Best of Boston selection and a Boston Phoenix Best Brunch in Boston selection two years in a row.
