Open since November 2001, ABBA has raised the standards for extraordinary dining. Chef/Co-owner Erez Pinhas, of Israel, captures the pan-Mediterranean flavors of his native land and recreates them, often by incorporating Thai elements, to create a truly unique and masterful cuisine. The authenticity behind this inventive cuisine is notable; this is no common "fusion" fare. Each combination is harmonious because of a genuine knowledge of the ingredients and a mastery of the skills behind the elegant presentations. The dining room, designed by the renowned LA architect, Welter Holden, and exquisitely appointed by Pinhas' wife and business partner, Christina Bratberg, is sophisticated and intimate - candles flicker in hand-painted Moroccan tea glasses, sconces throw a flattering light and banquettes, opulent with pillows in rich fabrics, invite you to linger. House cocktails, well-poured, generous, and not to be missed, include the Ginger Martini. Appetizers intrigue and deliver; the excellent desserts, created in-house, cannot be denied. Atmosphere is lively and welcoming; service is professional, unobtrusive, knowledgeable and hip.
