The East Coast Grill & Raw Bar opened in 1985 - always known as a lively, friendly, local restaurant specializing in boldly flavored, super fresh, mostly grilled food. The Grill tripled its size in 1996 adding a new focus to seafood, working with the wealth of Northeastern fisherman & shellfish farmers to feature eight nightly fish specials & an outstanding raw bar. The East Coast Grill is
casual & takes a lighthearted approach to dining with special events like the infamous "Hotter Than Hell Night Tripleheaders" & the "Oyster Olympics." There is also a "Lava Lounge" -
a neo, pseudo tribute to the American Polynesian restaurants of the '60s -
serving authentic flaming pupu platters & live pineapple drinks. Chef/owner Chris Schlesinger has co-authored eight cookbooks, created the Inner Beauty line of Hot Sauces & Spice Rubs and was awarded the Best Chef of the Northeast in 1996 by the James Beard Foundation
